Ask me anything about Boka Sami.
Boka Sami is one of the best local beaches close to Willemstad, located in the Sint Michiel area on the island's western coast. This sheltered beach is protected by a seawall, creating calm water conditions that are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is home to Boca Beach Ocean Club, a laid-back beach bar and restaurant where visitors can rent loungers, order food and drinks, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. A scenic coastal trail connects Boka Sami to nearby Kokomo Beach, offering a pleasant 20-minute walk along the shoreline with views of Sint Michiel Bay. The area is also known for its flamingo viewing opportunities — a trail leads from the beach to the salt flats of Sint Michiel Bay, where wild flamingos can often be spotted feeding in the shallow water, especially at sunrise and sunset. Boka Sami has a distinctly local feel, popular with Curaçaoan families on weekends. Parking is available near the beach, and access is free. The combination of calm water, nearby facilities, flamingo watching, and easy access from Willemstad makes Boka Sami one of the most versatile beaches on the island.
