Anno Blauw founded the plantation ca.1700. He stayed on the island only for a short time, but his name is still very much alive. On this plantation among other things, blue dye was produced. In an old barn near the colonial house, there was once found some bags full of dark blue powder, indigo blue. The bin, called ''baki'I blows'' according to legend, has disappeared unfortunately. According to old tales, blue, especially indigo, has special powers to keep the evil away.' Plantation Blauw now houses the beautiful Blauwbaai Golf & Beach resort with a golf course, a swimming pool, a beach and a children playground. There's also a dive operator and you can rent sea kayaks.
