About

Boka Spanjo is a remote, hidden beach on Curaçao's western coast, accessible only via a hiking trail from Playa Santa Cruz that leads through Playa Santu Pretu and continues further along the rugged coastline. This adventurous hike takes visitors through sharp limestone rocks, thorny coastal brush, and dramatic scenery, making it suitable only for experienced hikers with sturdy footwear. The reward at the end is a completely untouched cove with crystal-clear water, dramatic rock formations, and total isolation. There are no facilities, no shade, and no easy access — Boka Spanjo is as wild and unspoiled as Curaçao's coastline gets. The beach is free to access, but the challenging terrain means very few visitors make the journey. Snorkeling is possible in the calm areas of the cove, though the rocky entry requires care and water shoes. Boka Spanjo is ideal for adventurous travelers and experienced hikers who want to discover the most remote and untouched corners of Curaçao's western coast. The hike is best done in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the intense midday sun, and visitors should bring plenty of water.
