Ask me anything about Kenepa Grandi (Grote Knip).
Kenepa Grandi, also known as Grote Knip, is the most photographed beach in Curaçao and one of the island's most iconic natural landmarks. Located in the Westpunt region about 45 minutes west of Willemstad, this stunning beach features vivid turquoise water framed by dramatic limestone cliffs, fine white sand, and a sweeping bay that looks like a postcard come to life. The beach is accessible by car with paid parking (5 ANG) available at the top of the cliff, followed by a short walk down to the sand. There are no facilities on the beach — no food vendors, restrooms, or shade — so visitors should bring water, snacks, and sun protection. Snorkeling is excellent off the right cliff side, where colorful fish and coral formations can be found just a few meters from shore. Kenepa Grandi gets busy on weekends and holidays, but arriving before 9 AM virtually guarantees an empty beach with magical morning light. The beach is also stunning at sunrise when the water glows an intense turquoise. Nearby attractions include Kenepa Chiki (Kleine Knip), the Museo Tula at Landhuis Kenepa, and the historic plantation house. Kenepa Grandi is a must-visit destination that exemplifies the raw natural beauty of Curaçao's western coastline.
