Curaçao's Wild Side

Beyond the beaches, Curaçao has a rugged interior of cactus-studded hills, dry forests, and dramatic coastlines. Christoffel National Park dominates the northwest, with hiking trails ranging from easy walks to the challenging summit of Mount Christoffel (372m).

Shete Boka National Park protects sea turtle nesting sites along a wild, rocky coastline. The waves crash against limestone cliffs at Boka Tabla, creating a natural show you won't forget. Visit between March and May for the best chance of spotting turtles.

Most parks charge a small entrance fee and require a car to reach. Bring plenty of water, sturdy shoes, and sun protection — there is very little shade on the trails.
